This octagonal jubako Bento box is the right size for two people and is filled with traditional Yamanaka lacquerware techniques. 

The surface is finished with a technique called nuno-bari (cloth-covered), in which the surface is covered with cloth to increase strength and add a fabric pattern, creating a traditional texture.

The lacquer finish is suri-urushi (wiped Lacquer), which means that the black lacquer applied as a base is visible in places under the vermilion lacquer. The balance between red and black coloring changes over time, which is a unique feature of lacquer.

The dividers make it easy to serve, look beautiful, and prevent the flavors from mixing with each other.

It can be carried wrapped in a furoshiki as a bento box, or of course, it can be used as tableware with snacks, sushi, sweets, etc. at the dining table to create an eye-catching table setting. It is also great as a jewelry box or small container displayed on a shelf.
